For the first time since 2001, the Super Bowl champions will be on “Hard Knocks.” The Seattle Seahawks will appear on the popular HBO show in 2026, just a few months after winning the franchise’s second Super Bowl, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The following year, the team that lost to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl — the New England Patriots — will appear on the program. It will mark the first time either team has been featured on “Hard Knocks.”

Both teams will appear on the “training camp” version of the show. In recent seasons, “Hard Knocks” has added an “offseason” version and an “in-season” version of the show.

The program, which launched in 2001, started by featuring a reigning Super Bowl champion. Fresh off winning it all earlier in the year, the Baltimore Ravens appeared on “Hard Knocks” back in 2001. The team went 10-6 and made the playoffs, though fell in the division round.

The show has continued mostly uninterrupted since then. A wide sampling of NFL teams have appeared on the “training camp” version of “Hard Knocks,” the most recent of which being the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears.

The program gained popularity for its reality-style look at an NFL team and focus on player and coach personalities. The Seahawks should have plenty to show off there. The team is not only coming off a Super Bowl win, but features one of the best, young coaching hires in the game in Mike Macdonald, a quarterback with a great story in Sam Darnold and arguably the league’s best wideout in Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The following season, the Patriots should also provide excitement. Led by quarterback Drake Maye, who received strong MVP consideration last season, the team appears poised to contend for years to come.
