New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh spoke with the media at the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix on Monday, fielding questions about what the first iteration of his team is going to look and play like.
It’s no secret that the Giants will be more aggressive and disciplined under Harbaugh and will play with a purpose, imposing their will with the running game and excelling on special teams.

One question that arose was about second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart and how he fits into an offense run by coordinator Matt Nagy and run game guru Greg Roman.

“It’s gonna be built around what the guys do well,” Harbaugh said of the offense. “So the good thing, one of the many great things about Jaxson Dart, is he does so many things so well. “I mean, he can live in a lot of different worlds, and if you watch the offenses that we’ve had over the last number of years, it’s built around a lot of different elements, and there’s a lot of different elements that Jaxson can play in.
“Power run, dropback pass, quarterback-driven stuff, RPOs, quick ball-out type of completions. He can throw the ball downfield, throw it off play action. I’m not sure what he really can’t do, you know? So we’re gonna try to live in those different worlds and see how it fits all the other guys on the offense.”
The Giants are going to look different each week, maybe each series, as they figure out their strengths. Their running game has many options with Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary, and Dart himself. Throw in fullback Patrick Ricard and some solid blocking from the tight ends, and the Giants’ ground game could be a formidable one.

In the passing game, Dart has already displayed a knack for the big play, extending plays with his legs and showing exceptional field awareness. Now, if he can only play with less reckless abandon…
