New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is embracing a new look this offseason as part of a promotion for the Boston Children’s Hospital.

Maye had his head shaved by his wife Ann Michael Maye on Tuesday as part of “Saving by Shaving,” an annual pediatric research and treatment fundraising drive conducted by Granite Telecommunications.

Each head shaved at the event leads to $5,000 being donated to a fund at the Boston Children’s Hospital, according to a press release.

Maye got the chance to present a giant $5,000 novelty check to the Boston Children’s Hospital after getting his new haircut at the event in Quincy.

The event ultimately raised more than $4 million for the Every Child Fund, which supports the families of children receiving treatment and funds pediatric care and research, according to Patriots reporter Alexander Francisco and the Boston Children’s Hospital.

Shaving his head isn’t the only way Maye plans to be partnering with this hospital in the future.

The promotion took place five days after Maye and his wife announced the launch of their new nonprofit, the MayeDay Family Foundation, last Friday.

The foundation is designed to support “children and families enduring hardship” in both New England and North Carolina, including the Boston Children’s Hospital, according to the organizations’ website.

As part of the foundation’s launch, the Mayes announced a commitment to providing three years of funding for a Child Life Therapist on the oncology floor of the children’s hospital.

The foundation plans to host its first fundraising event on May 31, when the inaugural MayeDay Family Foundation Celebrity Softball Classic is set to take place in Worcester.

Maye is heading into his third season with the Patriots after finishing as AP MVP runner-up to the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford in 2025. He’ll start looking to build on a 14-win sophomore season that ended with a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX when OTAs begin in April.
