Considering the draft wrapped up only a month ago, the 2026 draft is still in the distant future. So much will change between now and then, from free-agent departures to trades to potential retirements that impact the Los Angeles Rams’ roster.

As a result, it’s hard to know what direction the Rams will go with their two first-round picks in 2026. Obviously, they could turn their attention to the quarterback position with Matthew Stafford still taking it year by year, especially if the Atlanta Falcons are bad enough to land the Rams a top-10 pick.

Draft Wire released a new mock draft for 2026 and in it, the Rams do land their franchise quarterback – but not with their first pick. Instead, they use their top selection from the Falcons on Texas A&M cornerback Will Lee III at No. 9 overall.

Then with their own pick at No. 26, the Rams select Penn State quarterback Drew Allar. With the potential Allar possesses, he would be a steal at No. 26 if the draft were today. Had he declared for the 2025 draft, Allar likely would’ve been a top-15 pick and he now has another season to improve even more.

Last season at Penn State, Allar threw for 3,327 yards and 24 touchdowns with only eight interceptions, giving him 49 touchdown passes and only 10 interceptions in the last two seasons alone. He’s athletic and has a live arm, making him an intriguing prospect for any team in search of a quarterback.

As for Lee, he’s a 6-foot-3 cornerback who has four interceptions and 16 passes defensed in the last two years combined, forcing one fumble in each year, as well. His combination of ball skills and size should get him drafted relatively early.
