Mike Vrabel and the Patriots are going to be on “Hard Knocks” in 2027.
Fans of the New England Patriots may be pining for the start of the 2026 season. But they’ll have even more to look forward to in 2027.
The NFL announced it will showcase the Patriots training camp on “Hard Knocks” in 2027 after the Seattle Seahawks are featured on the annual HBO show this coming summer.
The Pats of course fell to the Seahawks 27-13 in Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, California last month. New England will try to become the first team to get back to the Super Bowl after losing it since it did so with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in 2019.
The Patriots Will Be Featured on ‘Hard Knocks’ in 2027
This is the first time HBO and the NFL have announced the training-camp “Hard Knocks” participants for two years in the future.
But the Patriots will be the 17th team featured in the training-camp episode when they are in 2027. The NFL changed its rules to allow playoff teams from the previous year to be featured, which is why the Buffalo Bills were profiled last season.
So with no parameters to stick to, HBO and the NFL can now schedule the teams to profile multiple years in advance. Plus, with Belichick long gone to the University of North Carolina, and the Pats back in contention as the reigning AFC champs led by Drake Maye and other compelling figures, they should attract viewers in a year and a half.
The Seahawks are Being Training Camp Featured on ‘Hard Knocks’ in 2026
Patriots fans may want to avert their eyes from the upcoming “Hard Knocks” training-camp season, since the NFL may end up showing a lot of Super Bowl footage.
“‘Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks’ marks the franchise’s first appearance on the 19-time Sports Emmy-winning series,” the NFL announced in a press release. “Its signature all-access coverage will unfold this summer at the Seahawks training camp in Renton, Washington and will feature head coach Mike Macdonald, quarterback Sam Darnold, 2025 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba and defensive standouts Devon Witherspoon and Byron Murphy II.”
New episodes will air on HBO every Tuesday from Aug. 11-Sept. 9 and will be available for streaming on HBO Max.
Of course, the NFL and HBO have teamed up to create offseason and in-season offshoots of the popular all-access series. Last season, the NFC East was featured on the in-season program, and the New York Giants were the only team ever featured on the offseason version.
The in-season “Hard Knocks” have featured an individual division in each of the past two seasons. The NFC East was profiled in 2025 after the AFC South was featured in 2024, so it is possible the Patriots could be the subject in 2026 if NFL Films chose the AFC East this season.
Still, the AFC East may end up getting a break from the NFL and HBO, since they have been profiled a lot. The Bills were featured in training camp in 2025, and the New York Jets had the spotlight in 2023 and the Miami Dolphins were the in-season subject that year.
So Patriots fans may need to wait until 2027 to see what is going on behind the scenes at 1 Patriots Place in Foxborough.
