Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is well aware of the fact that Brittany Mahomes is officially a Hall of Famer.
Though fans now know Brittany as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, she was once an exceptional soccer player for the University of Texas at Tyler. On March 28, the former soccer player was inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame.

Mahomes had a record-setting career with the Patriots from 2013-2016. In fact, she still ranks second in school history with 31 goals and 78 total points.
“Truly honored to be inducted into the UT Tyler Athletics Hall of Fame,” Brittany Mahomes wrote on Instagram. “This City and this School is a huge part of who I am today, I will forever cherish this honor and am forever grateful for what this program did for me as an athlete and as a person! Coach Webb, you brought out the best in me, this doesn’t happen without you!”

Countless athletes and media members commented on Mahomes’ post, including FOX reporter Erin Andrews and NFL host Kay Adams.

As for Kelce, he congratulated Mahomes by giving her a new nickname. From this point forward, she’ll be known as “Hall of Fame Britt.”
Kelce commented: “HOF BRITT!!!! LFG!”
She’s been a successful owner in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Although her playing days are over, Mahomes is still trying her best to leave a positive influence on women’s soccer. After all, she’s currently a co-owner of the KC Current.
“Being able to be involved in the sport, and really help elevate women’s sports, is something that I’m super passionate about,” Mahomes said. “And so getting involved in the KC Current and building a championship culture here and really setting the standard and the bar for women’s sports is super cool. So, just getting involved and getting more excitement around the NWSL and helping when I can with the platform that I have and just empowering female athletes in women’s soccer is something that I’m really excited about.”

The KC Current will be back in action on April 4. Who knows? Maybe they’ll honor Mahomes before the match begins.
