The Washington Commanders need weapons around Jayden Daniels.

This offseason has seen most of the heavy lifting done on defense, with general manager Adam Peters being aggressive in getting veterans in at key positions.

That leads us to think the Commanders could look at an offensive player in the upcoming NFL Draft, as Daniels looks to bounce back from an injury-interrupted 2025 season.

But who?

Well, ESPN’s Matt Bowen has named the Commanders as an ideal landing spot for Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.

“New coordinator David Blough can bring more balance to the call sheet with Love — a scheme-transcendent player — as a runner and maximize his traits as a receiver, similar to how running back Jahmyr Gibbs is used in Detroit,” Bowen wrote.

“Quarterback Jayden Daniels is in serious need of a high-percentage target who can rattle off explosive plays. Love could slot into the lead role here, with free agent signing Rachaad White also seeing touches.”

Love an ideal weapon for Daniels

Not only is Love a stud running back that Washington would be adding, but he is also an adept pass-catcher.

So, when he is on the field, defenses won’t be sure how the Commanders will use Love.

Will he power through the line of scrimmage for six or seven yards? Or will he go out on a flat and pick up a handful of yards through the air? That is the sort of versatility Love will give a Commanders offense that is desperate for playmakers.

Granted, he could go well before Washington’s pick at No. 7, but if he is on the board, I wouldn’t mind betting the Commanders select him.
