GLENDALE – With the 2026 NFL Draft just over three weeks away, things are heating up for the Arizona Cardinals as they’re preparing to meeting with a top-rated QB in the draft. Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck is set to meeting with four teams for Top 30 visits, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Arizona is one of the teams listed and could have an interesting decision to make with its 34th overall pick come draft night.

Many experts have the franchise taking Alabama’s Ty Simpson with its second-round pick if he is available. However, recent draft hype for Simpson could make that quite hard for general manager Monti Ossenfort to snag him that late. Ossenfort could try to pivot to Beck, who is the same age as Simpson but with much more collegiate reps.

Beck has started 43 games in college across his time in Georgie and Miami. He led the SEC in passing yards in 2023, throwing for 3,941. His decision making is his biggest question entering the draft process, throwing 12 interceptions in his final two years in college respectively. However, Beck does have precision with the back. In his one year at Miami, the 6’4 QB led the ACC in completion percentage at 72.4% and passing efficiency rate at 157.0.

The production is there for Beck to be drafted, but team’s concerns about decision-making and growth in the NFL could make team’s hesitant. Simpson clearly has more upside because of his athleticism and movement in the pocket. Regardless, if Arizona can’t snag Simpson at 34, Beck could be the next best option.
