The Eagles are set to lose front office executive David Caldwell to the Florida Gators
The Philadelphia Eagles have experienced quite a bit of change this offseason. After enduring another collapse in 2025, the Eagles seem to know that the 2026 campaign is a make-or-break year for them, which has led to a heightened sense of urgency when it comes to getting back on track just over a year after winning Super Bowl LIX.
While the Eagles have willingly made several noteworthy changes over the past couple of months, there have also been a handful of moves that ideally would not have gone down. Another one of those moves has taken place on Wednesday morning, as reports have emerged indicating that a key member of their front office is bolting for the Atlanta Falcons.
Falcons Hire Jeff Scott as New Assistant General Manager
The Atlanta Falcons are set to hire Jeff Scott as their Assistant GM, per source. Scott has worked across various departments within scouting and football operations, most recently with the Eagles. Scott also has been a participant in the NFL’s Accelerator Program.
Across the NFL, one team that has caught attention with its front office moves is the Atlanta Falcons. With legendary quarterback Matt Ryan and Ian Cunningham spearheading a new-look front office, folks are keeping tabs on the Falcons as the 2026 NFL Draft approaches. And now, they appear to have added another big name into the mix in Jeff Scott.
Over the past 15 years, Scott has worked in a variety of different roles, spending his time with the Washington Commanders and the Eagles. In 2021, Scott joined Philly as a senior pro scout before quickly getting promoted to director of football operations in 2022. Ahead of the 2024 campaign, Scott was promoted again, this time to vice president of football operations.
Ryan and Cunningham have completely revamped Atlanta’s front office this offseason, and they will be bringing another experienced football mind to town in Scott. Another promotion is in line for Scott, as reports indicate he will be the Falcons’ new assistant general manager, meaning he will be working hand-in-hand with Cunningham moving forward.
“The Atlanta Falcons are set to hire Jeff Scott as their Assistant GM, per source,” Adam Schefter of ESPN reported in a post on X. “Scott has worked across various departments within scouting and football operations, most recently with the Eagles. Scott also has been a participant in the NFL’s Accelerator Program.”
Eagles Must Move Quickly to Replace Jeff Scott

Losing Scott is a tough blow for the Eagles, as he is one of the top rising executives across the league. With the draft drawing near, general manager Howie Roseman needs guys he can trust working alongside him, and Scott was clearly one of his top lieutenants. Now, with the draft just a couple of weeks away, Roseman is going to have to find a proper replacement for Scott.
There’s been a lot of drama brewing in Philadelphia this offseason, so this will likely make Roseman’s life more difficult in the near future. The Eagles have a lot of work that needs to be done in the month of April, and it’s safe to say that the moves Philly’s front office makes during this stretch could determine how the team fares in 2026.
