KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Hendon Hooker is back in the Volunteer State. The VFL has signed a free agent deal with the Tennessee Titans, per multiple reports.
Hooker will join a quarterback room that features three players with starting experience in Cam Ward, Will Levis and Mitchell Trubisky.
The Detroit Lions selected Hendon Hooker in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but waived him ahead of the 2025 season.
Since then, Hooker has spent time with the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets. He has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
In 2022, Hooker was a frontrunner for the Heisman trophy before suffering a torn ACL against South Carolina. He completed 69.6% of his passes for 3,135 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Hooker is one of three Tennessee quarterback alums currently on NFL rosters. Joe Milton is with the Dallas Cowboys, and Joshua Dobbs is with the New England Patriots.
