Only for the 2027 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play their home games in Orlando while the Stadium of the Future is completed here in Duval.
ORLANDO, Fla. — A day after the NFL announced that the Jacksonville Jaguars will play their 2027 season at Camping World Stadium in Orlando during EverBank Stadium’s $1.8 billion renovation, the top brass for the Jaguars as well as city officials from both Jacksonville and Orlando, officially announced the temporary move.Â
“I just couldn’t be happier for us to be here under the circumstances,” Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan said. “Orlando is as perfect as our home away from home.”
If the NFL schedule stays the same for the 2027 season, the Jaguars will have 10 home games to play. One of them is a preseason game, while another one is scheduled to be played in London but there could also be more.Â
“It’s exciting in that this has to happen in order for us to finish that stadium but at the same time it’s a little bit heart wrenching because you don’t want the team to move out of the city for anytime,” Jacksonville mayor Donna Deegan said. “Don’t get any crazy ideas here, Orlando. We love you. You are our neighbor. We appreciate you. We’re southern through and through and we like to share, but in a year, after 2027, they’re coming on home.”
The hope is that the lone season will create a new crop of fans in Central Florida who will continue supporting the team once they return to the completed Stadium of the Future in 2028.
The Jaguars top brass also expect a lot of fans from the 904 to travel the roughly two hours by car to the 407 for game days and keep the Duval culture alive for the season.Â
Jaguars president Mark Lamping said season ticket holders will get priority for buying tickets to games in Orlando.Â
Camping World Stadium is currently undergoing a $400 million renovation, expected to be completed before the start of the 2027 season.Â
