As the Tennessee Titans go forward in the NFL offseason, the entire roster is being built under the eye of new head coach Robert Saleh. Saleh comes into the mix, looking to completely transform this organization into a winning team.

For the new Titans head coach, defense will be the first part of the retool, and we have already seen Tennessee make some big moves. The major addition to the defense this offseason was the team signing star John Franklin-Myers in free agency, giving this unit a legitimate weapon moving forward.

However, Franklin-Myers can’t do it alone, and the front office will need to bring in more talent to help this defense really take off in 2026. The Titans have plans to compete for a wild-card spot, if not the AFC South division next year, so adding more playmakers on defense will be paramount to this goal.

TWSN Quick Facts:

Could Tennessee Titans Swing Trade For Kayvon Thibodeaux?

One name that could make some sense for the Titans to go after via trade is former first-round draft pick Kayvon Thibodeaux of the New York Giants. New York has a plethora of pass rushers on the team, and Thibodeaux has been in trade rumors for some time now.

Thibodeaux doesn’t seem to be in the long-term plans of the Giants, so we could see the organization look to make a move. The veteran will be entering the final year of his contract after New York picked up his fifth-year option, and to avoid losing him in free agency next offseason, trading him could make sense.

Tennessee is still building up the defense under Saleh, and adding a high upside player like Thibodeaux could help things. While Thibodeaux hasn’t lived up to all the hype that he entered the NFL with, he is still young enough to turn his career around before it’s too late.

Over his NFL career, Thibodeaux has dealt with some injury issues, and it has hurt his overall production on the field. But if he could stay healthy this coming year, he could not only help out a team like the Titians, if they were to trade for him, but also potentially be in line to net a large contract in free agency next offseason.

In 2023, Thibodeaux put up his best season as a professional, playing in all 17 games for the Giants. During this time, Thibodeaux registered 11.5 sacks proving his worth to the team on the field.

Overall, the Titans could land a potential steal with a trade Thibodeaux, and it could boost the defense for the upcoming season. Under Saleh, the Titans want to start winning right away, and this could be a way to make them much more competitive in 2026.
