With the announcement of the Jacksonville Jaguars moving to Orlando for the 2027 season while their stadium is renovated, local business leaders are hopeful that more money will be pumped into the Orlando community. The Jaguars will play at Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando, which is operated by Florida Citrus Sports. CEO Steve Hogan said this is a great opportunity to show everyone what Orlando has to offer. “We have the opportunity to show the world what we can do. Orlando businesses and residents, you’re going to get a chance to see what it’s like to have this quality of life,” Hogan said. He shared in 2022 that Camping World Stadium brought in about $700 million in economic impact and expects 2027 to blow that out of the water. Visit Orlando, which is the tourism arm of the city, said they plan to get to work immediately on partnerships and see if they can create month-long experiences or events since there are at least six home games guaranteed in 2027. “Having that consistency allows people to plan. It’s one of the reasons we do Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining for a month,” said Danielle Saba Hollander, the chief marketing officer. For mom and pop shops, that consistency is also key. “Some have struggled with the economy up and down, but bringing in thousands of people on a consistent basis, that know when this is an opportunity to start planning, how do we have themed events?” said Commissioner Shan Rose, who represents the area around the stadium. Orlando is already a top destination for many, with bed taxes bringing in $385 million in 2025. All those tourist dollars helped pay for the $400-million renovation at the stadium.
