The San Francisco 49ers only have two picks in the first three rounds after trading away their third-round pick for Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa. However, the 49ers can still make solid short- and long-term selections with picks 27 and 58 as they head into the 2026 season.

ESPN’s panel of draft analysts made their favorite selections for every team in the first three rounds, and they went offense for both of San Francisco’s early picks. Jordan Reid picked Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion at No. 27 and Matt Miller picked Northwestern offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan at No. 58.

Round 1, Pick No. 27: Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion

Concepcion is tailor-made for the Kyle Shanahan offense, as he’s an explosive YAC receiver who can align at multiple spots and is capable of running any route on the route tree.

Round 2, Pick No. 58: Northwestern OT Caleb Tiernan

Tiernan is exactly the type of savvy, experienced tackle prospect the 49ers need to prepare for life after Trent Williams.

Neither selection fills a “need,” per se, but both can contribute early and down the line if needed. The 49ers’ top receivers at the moment are Mike Evans, Christian Kirk and Ricky Pearsall. Concepcion’s skillset blends in nicely as someone who can be a versatile weapon for Brock Purdy. Concepcion caught 185 receptions for 2,218 yards and 25 touchdowns in three seasons. He also returned 25 punts for 456 yards and two scores in 2025.

Tiernan is an experienced offensive lineman with a massive 6-foot-8 frame. The 49ers need depth on the line after losing two guards in free agency and with the uncertainty around Trent Williams’ future. Tiernan would insulate San Francisco from any huge holes on the offensive line to help keep Purdy upright against tough defensive fronts inside the NFC West.
