The Kansas City Chiefs‘ offseason rolls on, with the players continuing to work on themselves and give back to the community. The many critics and analysts covering the league are sharing their opinions on the teams, including key players at each position.

Chiefs defensive lineman George Karlaftis was recently shown visiting the Special Olympics Missouri Training for Life Campus. Offering support and encouragement to the talented athletes.

ESPN recently released a list identifying one player at every position they consider underrated heading into the 2025 season. Karlaftis was chosen from the defensive end position, although he’s had successful seasons since being drafted into the league.

“If you want to find an underrated edge rusher, there’s a general rule to follow: Look for someone who ranks a lot higher in pressures than sacks.” wrote Schatz, “That means he’s getting to the quarterback and causing negative plays for the opponent, even if he isn’t getting the press. In 2024, Karlaftis was that guy. He followed up a 10.5-sack season in 2023 with eight sacks last season, but his pressure total was far more impressive. Karlaftis was tied for 14th in the NFL with 44 pressures (based on ESPN’s metrics). He added 11 more pressures in three playoff games and had three sacks against the Texans in the AFC divisional round.”

Since the 2022 season, Katlaftis has had 32.5 total sacks, including the postseason, and 208 total pressures. Last season, he led the Chiefs with eight sacks and tallied 61 total pressures.
