Cam Newton has played a major part in the Carolina Panthers history.

The former Heisman winner won the league MVP in 2015 while also leading them to Super Bowl 50 against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

Yet despite his history with the team, Newton feels left out and forgotten by the Panthers, as if the team has erased him from its history.

The team is going to Germany next year and has invited legends Steve Smith, Thomas Davis, and Luke Keighley, but not Newton, and he was disappointed by the snub.

When asked if he’d go if invited, Newton replied: “I guess we will never know.”

Newton went into further detail on his 4&1 podcast.

Newton tells the story of holding a 7-on-7 tournament at the Panthers facility and not seeing his picture up anywhere in the building.

Newton said that his son brought it to his attention.

“So as a man, when you have to explain to your son, daddy, where’s your picture? At this particular point and time, the question was, ” Oh, we don’t know if Cam retired yet, newsflash, I’m never going to retire.

“I know I’ve played my last piece of football; it don’t matter to me to officially retire,” he added.

Newton also suggested to the team that they have a panel with him interviewing former Panthers, but according to him, they turned down because he said he was told he had to mend some fences he didn’t know needed to be mended.

“Did it hurt my feelings? Yeah, it did, he said. “Like, damn, bro, I gave this city everything.”
