In the first off-season under newly hired head coach John Harbaugh, the New York Giants were very active in free agency. Although the team lost two of its top three free agents, who departed to sign elsewhere, the Giants added several key players.
This week, Pro Football Focus revealed their favorite and least favorite free-agency moves for each team. To no one’s surprise, PFF’s favorite move for the Giants was the re-signing of offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor to a team-friendly deal.

Favorite Move: T Jermaine Eluemunor
Eluemunor put together the best season of his career with the Giants in 2025. He gave up pressure on just 3.3% of pass plays, which led all right tackles. The Giants were able to sign him to a three-year contract worth $39 million, which makes him just the 13th-highest-paid right tackle in the league.
Eluemunor, who has enjoyed his time as a Giant thus far, appeared headed for a big payday. For one reason or another, however, he ended up back with New York, allowing the Giants to retain a major piece of their offensive line.

For their least favorite move involving the Giants, PFF cited the signing of veteran linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who joined the team after being released by the Chicago Bears.
Least Favorite Move: LB Tremaine Edmunds
While Edmunds enjoyed a breakout 2022 season with the Bills in a contract year (81.9 PFF overall grade), he failed to replicate that throughout his time in Chicago. His best season came in his last year with the Bears, but even then, he ranked just 35th with a 66.0 PFF overall grade and 48th with a 52.9 PFF coverage grade. It was slightly surprising that the Giants made him the 11th-highest-paid linebacker in the NFL.
Clearly, PFF does not believe the Giants received good value in Edmunds’ contract. However, teams often overspend in free agency, and the veteran linebacker may have extra motivation to prove his worth after failing to finish out his contract in Chicago.
Although Edmunds’ contract is hefty, given his age and recent production, if he fits into the defense the way Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson envision, the signing could pay significant dividends for the Giants.
