Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars are willing to retain WR Brian Thomas Jr., it seems like prominent sources still believe that the team could trade him. With the NFL Draft coming soon, the Athletic’s Mike Sando spoke to a team that believes the Jaguars might be willing to trade Thomas Jr. if a roster misses out on a top receiver early in the draft. Jacksonville has explicitly stated that they’re not moving on from Thomas Jr., but it’s still a possibility given the receiver’s potential. The receiver is coming off his worst season as a wideout despite having an explosive rookie season.

Thomas hauled in 87 catches for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. Unfortunately, he was unable to produce the same production the following season, only recording 48 receptions for 702 yards and two touchdowns.

Jaguars Predicted to Trade Pro Bowler Brian Thomas Jr. During 2026 NFL Draft – Suitors Emerge

Jacksonville traded for former Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers to strengthen the passing game for Quarterback Trevor Lawrence after Thomas struggled. Meyers’ addition to the team’s receiving helped them make the wild-card while making up for the loss of Travis Hunter to a season-ending injury. The Jaguars still have another receiver, Parker Washington, who blew up and became a reliable slot weapon.

He outpaced Brian Thomas Jr., but ever since they gave Meyers an extension following a trade, this only means that Liam Coen and the new regime, the Jaguars, are heading in a different direction. Jacksonville isn’t afraid to let players walk, which they did for former RB starter Travis Etienne this free agency due to his impending new contract, which he was eligible for. The Jaguars are getting younger, and here are three teams that could benefit from the untapped offensive weapon.

Top Fits
Dallas Cowboys

Even though the Cowboys franchise tagged star receiver George Pickens, the team might still be in the market for another wideout. Dallas lost Jalen Tolbert in free agency, which means there’s a need at the position. Ryan Flournoy is a solid replacement coming off a strong 2025 campaign, but the Cowboys need someone like Thomas Jr., who can get this roster back in the postseason. Flournoy is only experienced in the regular season, unlike Thomas Jr., who has experience playing in the playoffs.

CeeDee Lamb, Pickens and Thomas Jr. sound like one of the most dangerous trios in the NFC East, who can get Dak Prescott in the best spot to lead this offense to a championship game.

Indianapolis Colts

Meanwhile, the Colts are in dire need of another receiver. After trading Michael Pittman Jr. to the Steelers due to cap, the team signed Alec Pierce to a monster contract. Still, the team needs to prioritize bringing in another weapon to help Daniel Jones. The Colts can’t afford to lean all of the responsibility on Pierce this upcoming season. Thomas Jr. has a lot of potential to turn into a solid WR2 and help Jones lead the Jaguars to at least the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Philadelphia Eagles

With the expectation of AJ Brown being traded, the Eagles will probably be aggressive in searching for a replacement. If they don’t find what they like in this upcoming draft, they could resort to the trade market. Despite the team signing Marquise Brown, he’s too old and is only a temporary veteran and low-stakes weapon. Thomas Jr. is the long-term fit in this offense that can help elevate this offense if the Eagles trade Brown, especially on draft night.
