Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs found a unique way to wish WWE superstar Randy Orton a happy birthday.

The Lions’ social media manager asked players on the team via direct message on Instagram for their Final Four picks, with Gibbs responding he had no rooting interest but never forgot when he learned when Orton’s birthday was.

There is a lot of interest from Detroit in the Final Four because Michigan will take on Arizona on Saturday with a berth in the national title game up for grabs.

Most of the players who were asked responded by saying they were rooting for the Wolverines, including Aidan Hutchinson, Jared Goff, Isaac TeSlaa, Derrick Barnes, DJ Reed, Jameson Williams and Alim McNeill.

Three respondents didn’t name Michigan, but Gibbs certainly had the most unique answer by picking the Viper instead of the Wolverines. It’s a nice shoutout to Orton, who turned 46 on April 1.

Gibbs is a devoted pro wrestling and WWE fan. He dressed up as Jeff Hardy prior to Halloween last October and attended WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium.

It wouldn’t be a shock to see Gibbs show up at WrestleMania 42 in two weeks, especially with Orton set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the undisputed WWE championship.
