On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll is joined by Adam Lichtenstein, who covers the Miami Hurricanes for the South Florida Sun Sentinel. They chat about several Miami prospects who were large parts of their run to the National Championship, including Akheem Mesidor, Keionte Scott, and Jakobe Thomas, to name a few.

Could one of these ‘Canes end up in Chicago?

Mesidor (6’3”, 259) has been mocked to the Bears a bit, and while he is an older prospect (he’ll turn 25 tomorrow), he should be able to provide immediate impact.

“Right away, you could tell Messidor was very much like a culture fit, and in his first year at UM (2022), he had a very good year, and that team was not good,” Lichtenstein said on the show. “That team went five and seven, did not have a ton of talent on it, but Mezador was one of the standouts that year. Like I said, definitely a culture fit, very smart guy, very hardworking, and over the course of the last couple years, he’s dealt with his share of injuries, which is why he’s played six years of college ball. He dealt with his share of injuries, but when he’s been healthy, he has been just an excellent edge rusher for Miami, and he was healthy this entire season, and you know, had his best year yet.”

Scouts love his motor, move set, and makeup, and two years removed from surgery on torn ligaments in his feet, he had 12.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, and 4 forced fumbles.

Give Taylor’s show a listen in either of the embeds below, and let us know if you’d like the Bears to draft any Hurricanes.
