The Cincinnati Bengals added to their secondary on Thursday, agreeing to deals with two free agent defensive backs.The Bengals announced one-year deals with safety Kyle Dugger and cornerback Ja’Sir Taylor on Thursday.It comes after a quiet couple of weeks for the Bengals, who were active in the initial days of free agency, signing safety Bryan Cook, defensive end Boye Mafe and defensive tackle Jonathan Allen.Dugger, 30, will add a veteran presence to Cincinnati’s safety group, which also includes Cook, Jordan Battle, PJ Jules and Daijahn Anthony.Drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Dugger played six seasons with the Patriots before a midseason trade to Pittsburgh last season.Through 90 career games, Dugger has recorded 11 interceptions, 483 total tackles and 4.5 sacks, with 27 tackles for loss.Dugger was a reliable starter for New England from 2021-25, starting at least 13 games in each of the last five seasons.Taylor was picked by the Los Angeles Chargers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has spent much of his career with the Chargers.From his 2022 rookie season through the first half of the 2025 campaign, Taylor started 11 games with Los Angeles, had one interception and 84 total tackles.Taylor was traded from the Chargers to the New York Jets last November, playing eight games for the Jets to end the 2025 season.
