Last week, ESPN published a new, three-round NFL mock draft with rotating picks from Mel Kiper, Matt Miller, Jordan Reid and Field Yates.
After acquiring wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in a trade with the Miami Dolphins last month, the Denver Broncos do not hold picks in the first or third rounds of the draft. So their only selection in the mock draft was No. 62 overall in the second round. That mock selection was made by Miller.
Miller has the Broncos adding Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers with their first pick.
“Evan Engram was added last offseason to be the Broncos’ ‘Joker’ tight end, but he’ll be 32 years old,” Miller wrote for ESPN. “Stowers dazzled at the combine and could be a good fit in Denver.”
Stowers (6-4, 239 pounds) is a former quarterback who ran a 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds and broke the tight end record with a 45.5-inch vertical jump at the NFL combine. He totaled 111 receptions for 1,407 yards and nine touchdowns in two seasons (25 games) with the Commodores following stints at New Mexico State and Texas A&M.Â
