Les Snead responds to Sean McVay recruiting Kirk Cousins

Speaking in a clip shared by Up & Adams Show, Snead explained the team’s stance.

“That is a possibility. I think in all of this, I think Kirk’s got opportunities and our approach with the backup QB situation has been to give those players some space.

“They’re trying to figure out what’s next for them,” Snead said.

He added: “If it’s a win-win, then we’ll make it work. … The win of Kirk is, the experience he’s had in the league, the experience he’s had with Sean and that offense.

“So if we were have to go to Kirk, that experience is going to, probably at a macro level, be more net positive than negative.”

Snead’s comments made it clear the Rams were open to the idea, especially given Cousins’ history with McVay.

The familiarity with the system and coaching staff made him an attractive option. However, the decision was never fully in their control.

LA Rams’ plans fall apart as the Raiders land Kirk Cousins

Any hopes of bringing Cousins to Los Angeles took a major hit after a new development emerged. As confirmed in a post shared by the NFL:

“[Las Vegas] Raiders to sign QB Kirk Cousins,” the tweet read.

The move effectively ends the Rams’ pursuit before it could materialize. With Cousins heading to Las Vegas, McVay’s public recruitment effort will not lead to a reunion.

It also forces Los Angeles to reassess its backup quarterback plans moving forward. For now, the opportunity is gone, and the Rams will have to explore other options.
