Former Denver Broncos pass-rusher Von Miller gave Broncos Country quite the scare when he posted a graphic on April 1 informing the league he was signing with the Las Vegas Raiders. Lending credibility to Miller’s claim was Raiders minority owner Tom Brady commenting on the post.
Not to worry! Miller has revealed that news of his signing was simply an April Fools’ prank.
“That was obviously an April Fool’s joke,” Miller said on Instagram. “It got out of hand. Y’all know it ain’t real, man. April Fools. I’m chillin’, man.”
Miller remains a free agent after the Washington Commanders let his contract expire without an extension in March. Miller believes he still has a lot left in the tank, even as a 14-year veteran, and two-time Super Bowl champion.
One thing Bronco fans know for sure: Miller would never sign with the Raiders. “(Playing for Las Vegas is) really the only thing that could make Broncos Country not love me no more,” Miller said on his “Free Range” podcast earlier this year. “(I)f I’m going to the AFC West, it’s going to be the Denver Broncos.”
