As the 2026 NFL Draft is rapidly approaches, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked to a top wide receiver prospect of the class.
According to NFL draft insider Tony Pauline, the Steelers are high on Indiana Hoosiers wide receiver Omar Cooper and are “in play” to select him with the 21st overall pick.
“I’m told Cooper is in play for the Pittsburgh Steelers at pick No. 21 despite trading for Michael Pittman, and the New York Jets are also high on the speedy wideout, though they would only consider him with the 33rd pick,” Pauline wrote.
Cooper, a 6-foot, 199-pound receiver with 4.4 speed, recorded 1,531 yards and 20 touchdowns on 97 catches from 2024-2025.
A projected late-first to early-second round draft pick, Cooper would offer the Steelers a versatile, precise route-runner with exceptional yards-after-the-catch ability. But the Steelers could opt to select a top guard prospect at pick No. 21, especially if Vega Ioane is available.
