South Carolina standout Jalon Kilgore to visit Texans, Panthers, Colts, Seahawks, Commanders, multiple private workouts

HOUSTON – South Carolina standout nickel and safety Jalon Kilgore, a team captain and All-Southeastern Conference selection, visits the Texans next week, per a league source.

One of the most versatile safeties in the draft, Kilgore also visits the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders. The Gamecocks team captain has private workouts with the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints and Buffalo Bills.

Kilgore (6-foot-1, 211 pounds, 4.40 speed) is known for his outstanding tackling and ball skills. The former freshman All-American intercepted eight career passes, including five interceptions two seasons ago to tie for the conference lead.

He finished his career with 178 tackles and 21 pass breakups before declaring for the draft after his junior year.

He recorded 54 tackles last season and had a team-high 10 pass breakups with a dozen passes defensed and recovered two fumbles.

A Georgia native, Kilgore played wide receiver and safety and also excelled in track and field and basketball. He was the state long jump champion as a sophomor

At the NFL scouting combine, he had a 10-10 broad jump and a 37-inch vertical leap with a 4.32 short shuttle and bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times.
