There has been a twist of fate for former Buffalo Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam.

Last week, Elam signed a deal in free agency with the Kansas City Chiefs. Full contract turns have yet to be announced.

Elam has not played on the Bills since 2024. However, because it’s the Chiefs, it’s worth mentioning Buffalo because of when Elam was drafted by the Bills in 2022 (and because of the ongoing Bills-Chiefs rivalry).

Elam was taken No. 23 overall by Buffalo. At the time, the Bills were heavily connected to cornerback Trent McDuffie ahead of the 2022 draft.

Where did McDuffie get picked? No. 21 to Kansas City… and in landing with the Chiefs, Elam replaces McDuffie. The Chiefs lost McDuffie in free agency to the Los Angeles Rams.

It’s an entire twist of fate for Elam dating back to the 2022 NFL draft.
