The Green Bay Packers hosted Georgia Tech defensive lineman Jordan van den Berg on an official pre-draft visit on Tuesday, according to Bill Huber of Packers on SI.

A Penn State transfer, van den Berg produced 16 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks over two seasons at Georgia Tech. A 13-game starter in 2025, van den Berg led the team with 11.0 tackles for loss and was named a first-team All-ACC selection. Per PFF, van den Berg had 29 pressures and 19 stops over 553 snaps in 2025.

If his productive final season didn’t do the trick, van den Berg really put his name on the NFL draft radar with a dominant athletic performance the Georgia Tech’s pro day. Measuring a little over 6-3 and 310 pounds, van den Berg aced the testing — benching 225 pounds 35 times, running the 40-yard dash in 4.94 seconds, hitting 36″ in the vertical leap, covering 9-11 in the broad jump and finishing the short shuttle in 4.17 seconds. All were considered elite marks at his size. By Relative Athletic Score, van den Berg scored a perfect 10.0 — making him one of the most athletic defensive tackle prospects ever.

The Packers, who need interior defensive line help, could see van den Berg as the perfect developmental prospect, with his truly elite athleticism giving him a higher than typical ceiling.

van den Berg isn’t without flaws as a prospect. He turns 24 in April, and his pass-rushing production wasn’t overwhelming — only 4.0 sacks and nine quarterback hits over almost 600 pass-rushing snaps during his final two seasons.

On the consensus big board, van den Berg ranks No. 246 overall — making it likely he’ll be a Day 3 pick. But with a disruptive 2025 season and elite testing numbers, it’s possible he’ll come off the board sooner than expected.

van den Berg is a South Africa native. He moved to the Atlanta area when he was 10 years old. After graduating from Penn State in 2023, he earned a master’s degree in international affairs, science and technology from Georgia Tech last year.
