The Washington Commanders announced Tuesday they hired Lackawanna Trail graduate John Glenn as assistant special teams coach.

Glenn was a member of the Commanders staff in 2024 as a special teams assistant before leaving for the Las Vegas Raiders as their linebackers coach last season under head coach Pete Carroll, who was fired after one season.

Glenn, who is entering his 15th season as an NFL coach, spent 12 straight seasons with the Seahawks, including a six-year stint as linebackers coach (2018-23).

Prior to the NFL, Glenn spent two seasons at the University of Washington as a quality control coach (2010-11) and three seasons as a linebackers coach for North Carolina Wesleyan College (2006-08).

Glenn was a three-year letterwinner at linebacker and a starter on East Stroudsburg University’s 2004 and 2005 NCAA playoff teams.
