The Green Bay Packers hosted Akron cornerback Malcolm DeWalt IV on a pre-draft visit on Tuesday. DeWalt’s Instagram account posted stories of his visit to Green Bay, and Easton Butler confirmed the visit.

DeWalt played in 23 games over two seasons at Akron after starting his collegiate career at Snow College in Utah and Butte College, where Aaron Rodgers starred before transferring to Cal. While at Akron between the 2024 and 2025 seasons, DeWalt produced 65 tackles, two interceptions, 2.5 tackles for loss, 13 pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. One of his two interceptions in 2025 was returned for a touchdown.

Per PFF, DeWalt allowed only 23 catches and a passer rating of 78.9 into his coverage during the 2025 season. He also earned an elite tackle grade (only one miss) and an excellent run defense grade during his breakout final season.

DeWalt measured 6-0 and 197 pounds at Akron’s pro day. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38-4.40 seconds, hit 36″ in the vertical leap, covered 10-0 in the broad jump, completed 14 reps on the bench press and finished the short shuttle in 4.26 seconds and the 3-cone drill in 7.19 seconds. His Relative Athletic Score is 8.94 out of 10.0.

DeWalt is not currently ranked on the consensus big board. He is a likely late Day 3 option or an undrafted free agent who the Packers could pursue following the 2026 draft.

The Packers need depth and competition at cornerback and will almost certainly use at least one draft pick at the position.
