We are just a few short weeks from one of the best events on the NFL calendar: the NFL Draft. The Minnesota Vikings have nine total selections, with four coming in the top 100. By now, most fans and media believe the biggest needs are in the secondary and at running back.
However, there may be a surprising need on defense that no one is talking about, at least according to Bleacher Report.

The site had writer Alex Ballentine publish an article going over every team’s surprising need heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, and for the Vikings, that need is at linebacker. While this may not be a high priority with one of their first few picks in the draft, snagging some quality depth certainly is never a bad thing. Brian Flores does a great job getting the most out of this position, and adding some rotational pieces makes sense.
Look for Minnesota to potentially target Harold Perkins Jr. (LSU) or Taurean York (Texas A&M) in round three, should the front office share the same sentiment.
