Despite a disappointing, injury-riddled 2025 season, Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is still one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL.
If you don’t believe me, just listen to Tom Brady instead. Brady has made it known he’s a fan of Daniels, and the two clearly have a good relationship, as the Fanatics Flag Football Classic showed. Brady playfully roasted the quarterback at that event, but also praised him and thought highly enough of him to include him.

Then, on Friday, Brady appeared in a promotional video for Topps. The popular trading card company just released new NFL sets, and Brady opened a pack for the video. The first card that Brady pulled was none other than Jayden Daniels.
“Oh, one of my favorite young quarterbacks, oh boy,” Brady proclaimed. “Jayden Daniels, this one is staying in my collection.”
I mean, can you get a bigger compliment than the best quarterback of all time calling you one of his favorite players?
It’s not surprising that Daniels has made such an impression on Brady. After all, Daniels did have one of the best rookie seasons for a quarterback in NFL history in 2024. That year, Daniels threw for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns, while also rushing for 891 yards and six more scores. That incredible campaign led to the Commanders making it to the NFC Championship Game and Daniels winning Rookie of the Year honors.

Daniels was unfortunately unable to stay healthy in 2025, but the hope is that the Commanders will return back to contention in 2026. It will be interesting to see what Daniels is able to accomplish, knowing that the GOAT is watching him every step of the way.
