The Philadelphia Eagles have pulled off yet another trade involving a wide receiver. And once again, A.J. Brown has nothing to do with this one.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Eagles are acquiring wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a pair of draft picks. The Packers are getting a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick from the Eagles.

“ESPN sources: the Green Bay Packers are trading wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick. Wicks will sign a one-year, $12.5 million extension with the Eagles, per his agent (David Mulugheta),” Schefter wrote.
Wicks on the Eagles
Wicks has been a fringe starter for the Packers for the past three seasons, recording 108 receptions for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns in 46 games.

NFL fans are already expecting that he’ll be a slot receiver for the Eagles, while some are saying (jokingly or not) that he’ll replace A.J. Brown in the starting lineup soon.
“Yep AJB is so gone,” one user declared.
“Just do the AJ Brown trade to New England already,” another demanded.
“Eagles keep adding to the wide receiver room. Very clear AJ will be traded,” wrote a third.

Schefter noted that it’s unlikely we’ll see a trade involving Brown until after June 1, when it will be less expensive for the Eagles to move him.

“AJ Brown’s future in Philadelphia remains a topic of conversation, and in the meantime, the Eagles add another WR in Dontayvion Wicks from Green Bay. The belief remains that, if an AJ Brown trade were to happen, it would likely occur after June 1, when the cap burden would be more manageable for the Eagles.”
Have the Eagles found a replacement for Brown in Wicks?
