Miami has added another offensive lineman to the program ahead of the 2026 season.

On Saturday evening, the Hurricanes added a commitment from Hutchinson (KS) Community College offensive lineman Jacob Hawks.

The 6-foot-9, 320-pounder is currently in Miami on an official visit with the Hurricanes, which InsideTheU first reported.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the coaching staff and players and seeing what the practices are like,” Hawks told InsideTheU prior to the visit. “My relationship with Miami has slowly grown, texting back and forth with [Alex] Mirabal. And I am excited to meet Coach Mirabal and [Mario] Cristobal in person for the first time.”

Hawks was a full-time starter at left tackle for a program that went 11-1 and finished as the junior college national runner-ups. He helped anchor an offensive line that helped the Blue Dragons average 39.8 points per game, while generating 171.1 rushing yards per contest and 206.7 passing yards per game. As a unit, Hutchinson’s offense averaged 377.8 yards per game.

“I committed because I liked the overall intensity of the program and the close relationships you can see between the players and coaches,” Hawks later said.

Currently unranked by all major platforms, Hawks is a full academic qualifier with three years of remaining eligibility, plus a redshirt year. He can enroll at Miami this summer.

Hawks is a native of Topeka, Kansas, where he played at Washburn Rural High School.
