The Seattle Seahawks leaned on Kenneth Walker III a whole lot during last year’s Super Bowl run.
Walker finished the regular season with 1,027 yards and five touchdowns during the regular season, but hit another level in the playoffs. In the Divisional Round win over the 49ers, Walker finished the day with 1116 yards and three touchdowns. He added another 62 rushing yards, 49 receiving yards and a touchdown in the NFC Championship win over the Rams and earned Super Bowl MVP With 135 rushing yards and 26 receiving yards in the big game.
The threat of Walker in the backfield simplified things for QB Sam Darnold and the result was one of the most efficient offenses in the NFL.
Walker was a free agent at the end of the 2025 season and the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t waste any time inking the versatile back to a deal.
Now the Seahawks have a massive void on their offense but one recent trade proposal has them replacing Walker with a similar NFL running back who is also coming off a season with more than 1,000 yards.
Seahawks replace Kenneth Walker III with Breece Hall in trade proposal with Jets
Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports thinks the Seahawks could reach a deal with the New York Jets to trade for Breece Hall as a replacement for Walker.
Vacchiano has the Seahawks giving up a 2026 third-round pick (96th), and 2027 fifth-round pick in exchange for Hall:
The Jets just placed the franchise tag on Hall and they want to sign him long term, though it’s not clear if Hall actually wants to stay in New York. The Seahawks, meanwhile, need a replacement for Kenneth Walker, whom they lost in free agency. The cost would be at least a third-round pick, which was reportedly what the Jets were asking for at the deadline last year. A running back like Hall is an unnecessary luxury for a team like the Jets headed for the bottom of the standings, but he could instantly make the Seahawks an even bigger threat to repeat as Super Bowl champs.
Hall doesn’t have the power Walker had, but he’s a similar back in many ways. He’s coming off his best NFL season with 1,065 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while adding another 350 receiving yards and a touchdown as a receiver.
