Dave McGinnis, a former NFL coach, Titans color commentator, and beloved voice of the Tennessee Titans, has died at 74, leaving behind a legacy built as much on mentorship as football.

Known to many simply as “Coach Mac,” McGinnis spent decades shaping players, colleagues, and listeners with a steady presence and an unmistakable passion for the game. Even after his time on the sidelines ended, he remained close to football as a radio analyst, offering insight while continuing to uplift those around him.

McGinnis died Monday following an illness that first led to his hospitalization in early March.

Those who knew him describe a man who never really stopped coaching. Whether breaking down a play or sharing a story, McGinnis was known for his generosity, with his time, his guidance and his encouragement.

His impact extended beyond the field and broadcast booth, touching the Titans organization and the broader football community in a way that will be felt long after his passing.
