The NFL draft is next week, so, of course, we dedicated our Tuesday Community Question to the subject.
We asked our readers if they would be happy with the Raiders trading up throughout the draft to secure key players.

If I can trade the Jax picks (4th&6 rounders) to move up into the 3rd round?; I’m doing it.
Chris from Curry
If you’re building for the future, then okay to trade up. If you want to win now then trade down now, to get more bodies. Not necessarily that way, but if you want quality that lasts, you got to pay for it.

If our culture were already established and we were one or two players away I could see it.
But when teams are taking their foot off the gas after halftime, as was the case several times last year, your roster needs more work. Spytek and Kubiak have been chanting the mantra of tough guys who love football and you can find those players in the mid rounds.

I think it’s far more likely we trade back than trade up.

We got x3….. 4th round picks. That is enough ammo to trade up in this draft.
1st = QB…Starter***
2nd = NT…Starter
3rd = FS….Starter
3rd(Trade up x2…4th picks) = WR….Starter
4th with kept early 4th = RT….Starter
5th = RB
If we somehow sign Deebo at a discount because he has lost his leverage for big $$. He would immediately be our 1WR and our 3rd RB. he gets a bum wrap because the 49ers were using him to channel their offense through but didint want to pay him. Our Wr core needs the veteran help.

Depends what trade up we are talking about.

If there is someone we really covet available at 29 or 30 in the first and we dont think they will make it to 36, then giving up a 4th rounder to get us there is fine.
Likewise maybe doing that with our third rounder and a fourth rounder makes sense
We should also consider packing ingredients up two 4ths to get into the top 90. Ideally we want to get Mendoza and three quality players who could start so any of the above may be worth doing
