The 2026 NFL Draft is less than a week away, and instead of the picks falling in place, the closer we get to the draft, the opposite is happening. From news reports to rumors swirling, many people’s beliefs about what will happen in the top 10 have changed. The latest moment that has changed what may happen is WR Jordyn Tyson’s workout for teams.
To give some background, Tyson is one of the top WRs in the NFL Draft, but while his talent shows he may be the top, his injury history has dropped his draft stock throughout the process. He has been dealing with an injury until recently, which has kept him out of many pre-draft workouts. So, he held a practice for teams where the young WR ran routes, and it seems that he looked healthy, explosive, and impressive to teams. This is exactly what Tyson needed to do for his draft stock, and now, it seems like he may be the first WR1 off the board, but how does that change what the New Orleans Saints will do?

Well, starting with the obvious, Jordyn’s workout hurts the Saints’ chances of getting Tyson at 8. In recent weeks, there has been a growing feeling that if some options are off the board (such as Jeremiyah Love and Rueben Bain Jr.), there is a real chance the Saints would choose Tyson. If the Saints had that belief before, even with the major injury red flags, then the chances of Tyson being selected at 8 rose, but so did the odds of him being selected earlier. Now, there is momentum for Tyson before the Saints’ selection. If the Saints miss out on a player they love, such as Tyson, that is going to be a massive loss for the team.
On the other hand, this may actually be a great thing for New Orleans. Tyson may be the top option for the Saints, and that would be bad, but if he’s not, this could allow one of the players they have ahead of him to drop. If Tyson and Carnell Tate both go before the Saints pick, that would drop 1 of David Bailey, Arvell Reese, Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, Bain Jr., or Love. Add at least 1 offensive lineman drafted in the top 7, the Saints’ spot at 8 just got way better after these Tyson workouts.
Time will tell where the talented WR will land.
