The Cleveland Browns own the No.6 and No. 24 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. With those selections, the two most likely picks are set to be offensive line and wide receiver.

Shedeur Sanders, or whoever the starting quarterback is, needs some help at both spots. And at No. 6, the offensive line seems to be the favorite with a deep wide receiver class.

However, as Matt Okada of NFL.com projects, the Browns could get some bad news on draft night at No. 24 in search of a wide receiver, as Okada projects the Buffalo Bills to trade up to No. 23 with the Philadelphia Eagles with WR in mind.

Bills-Eagles projected trade would be bad news for Browns

“Bills jump Browns for WR Omar Cooper Jr.,” Okada writes. “In this theoretical, ever-active Philly GM Howie Roseman slides back a few slots, picks up an early Day 3 pick, and allows Brandon Beane and Co. to hop the receiver-hungry Browns for Indiana’s Omar Cooper Jr.”

While the Browns might not be looking at wide receiver if they take someone like Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, USC’s Makai Lemon, or Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson with their first pick, the other scenario would make this trade-up a tough one.

If the Browns get jumped by the Bills, who go on to take Cooper, the Indiana WR who had 13 touchdowns for the National Champions last season, then the Browns would lose out on one of the best WRs in this year’s draft class.

There would likely be another WR still on the board, with Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion or Washington’s Denzel Boston likely still being available.

But if the Browns prefer Cooper to all of those other options (besides the top-three consensus guys), then this trade projection would be some tough news for the Browns.

Andrew Berry and the Browns could pivot to another wide receiver, take a falling defender, or even double-up on the offensive line if such a scenario were to happen.

This scenario is one the Browns need to watch out for. Even if it’s for an offensive lineman and not a WR, teams might be calling the Eagles looking to move up the board in front of the Browns due to their needs being very clear.
