New Orleans Saints defensive line coach Bo Davis has reportedly met with Tennessee EDGE Tyre West, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 Houston.
The 23-year-old Tifton, GA native spent all four seasons of his college career with the Volunteers, recording 65 total tackles (34 solo), one pass breakup, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles. This past season, West posted career highs with 23 total tackles (12 solo), one pass breakup, four sacks and a forced fumble.
West measures in at six-foot-three, 283 pounds, with 33 3/8-inch arms, 10-inch hands and an 80 1/4-inch wingspan. At Tennessee’s pro day, he ran a 4.85-second 40-yard dash with a 1.68-second 10-yard split, while also posting a 33-inch vertical, a nine-foot-three broad jump and a 4.84-second 20-yard shuttle.
Bo Davis has been busy doing his due diligence on the upcoming defensive line class as the Saints continue to signal their intent to add along the defensive trenches in the draft, and West could emerge as an intriguing Day 3 target for New Orleans.
