Hosting the NFL Draft has some perks. Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II revealed on WDVE that he got the NFL to move a seating area reserved for Baltimore Ravens fans so Steelers fans would get better seats at the NFL Draft Theater.

“I did ask that, you know, on the normal seating chart, I noticed that the Ravens fans were sitting in front of the Steeler fans in one section of the draft theater. So I asked them to make that change, and they agreed to make that change,” Rooney said.

Rooney said the NFL has been very open in allowing the Steelers to have a voice in running the event.

“When you’re hosting the draft the league lets you do some things you don’t normally do during the draft,” Rooney said.

The Steelers and Ravens have one of the best rivalries in all of sports. Their contests almost always go down to the wire.

Free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins explained in a recent interview what it was like in the Baltimore Ravens’ locker room after Tyler Loop’s game-deciding 44-yard missed field goal against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18 this past season.

With Loop’s miss, the Steelers clinched the AFC North and a playoff berth, while the Ravens went home.

“That was probably the hottest I have seen the locker room,” Hopkins said. “Derrick (Henry) and I were just looking at each other like, ‘Did that really just happen?’ I didn’t think it was real for a second. I thought I was still dreaming like, ‘There ain’t no way he missed it,’ but you know he human. It was hot, though. It shouldn’t even have gotten down to depending on him to make a 40-yarder. We failed as an offense. We should have ran the ball with Derrick like as offensive players. I ain’t going to say it was the offense, but as players, we felt like we should have just kept handing off the ball to Derrick and let him try to go score.”

The Ravens’ loss marked the end of the John Harbaugh era. But Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said Harbaugh would have only kept his job for “a week” longer had Loop made the kick.
