GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers are holding Organized Team Activities (OTAs) this week in Green Bay.

It may be late May, but Jordan Love is already thinking about early February. He is very clear about his goal in his third year as the Packers’ starting quarterback.

“You talk about Super Bowl, that’s the goal for us,” said Love. “We talked about that last year, and that’s the same message this year. We’re trying to win a Super Bowl. I’m definitely trying to be that guy, to be able to take this team and lead them to that.”

Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur has urged Love to be more of a vocal leader, advice Love has taken to heart.

“You’re the voice in the huddle,” said Love. “That’s something I’m always trying to improve on, get better at, just be more comfortable being a vocal leader. You never want to be force things, or sound like a message isn’t coming from you, it’s coming from somebody else. So, it’s always trying to find that balance of being yourself.”

“He’s a coach on the field,” said LaFleur. “He knows this offense as good as anybody, in regards to the details and what we’re trying to get accomplished. I think he articulates that well to the other players. He’s been pretty vocal, and I think that’s going to serve us well.”

OTAs are voluntary. Jaire Alexander and Elgton Jenkins were among those not present. Love is spending the time working on his own game.

“Just trying to be as consistent as possible with accuracy, ball placement, things like that,” said Love. “The timing of my feet, coming up with the routes and just trying to marry all that stuff up. Talk to guys after every rep to make sure we’re on the same page, make sure we’re seeing the defense the same way. Just so we have that connection with everything we do. With the the rookies and younger guys, it’s all about just speaking that offensive language to them, getting them on the same page and trying to help them understand the playbook as fast as possible.”

Matt LaFleur confirmed the Packers are planning joint practices with the Colts in Indianapolis and the Seahawks in Green Bay leading up to preseason games in August.
