A former Penn State transfer has his first NFL contract.

Cornerback Cam Miller has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Carolina Panthers following the conclusion of the NFL draft, he announced on Instagram.

During his time at Penn State, Miller was a rotational cornerback, only starting in five games across three seasons. The former Nittany Lion found the most success at Penn State in his junior season, starting in four games while tallying 27 total tackles and breaking up five passes.

However, he was still seen as more of a rotational player as the team utilized numerous defensive backs.

After his junior season, Miller transferred to Rutgers for his final year. In Piscataway, Miller started every game, amounting 47 tackles and an interception. He was a mainstay in the Scarlet Knights’ secondary, and that play earned him the contract.

Miller will have a chance to earn a spot on the Panthers, potentially as a depth piece or the practice squad. He will also reunite with Zakee Wheatley, who was drafted by Carolina in the fifth round.
