Jerry Jones is the owner, president and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. Although the Cowboys have not made the playoffs in the previous two seasons, if you ask Jones about it, he will tell you that his expectations are nothing short of winning another Super Bowl.
First-year Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus led one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season. Dallas allowed the most passing yards per game (251.5) and recorded only 35 sacks (24th overall). Jones entered the offseason knowing the team needed to make major changes on defense.

An early move Dallas made was to replace Eberflus after one season with 34-year-old Christian Parker. Jones and his war room honed in on defensive upgrades during the 2026 NFL Draft. It began with a first-round splash, selecting Ohio State Buckeyes safety Caleb Downs at No. 11. The Cowboys continued their pace with the selection of UCF Knights edge rusher Malachi Lawrence with the No. 23 pick.
Dallas looked to shore up its linebacker room by drafting Michigan Wolverines linebacker Jaishawn Barham in the third round with the No. 92 overall pick. Barham was the only linebacker Jones drafted over the weekend, and it appears he isn’t satisfied yet.
Curtis Robinson is a linebacker who previously played part of his first season for the Denver Broncos in 2021. He was released December that year then signed with the San Francisco 49ers. The Stanford Cardinal graduate saw the most action of his career in the 2025 season, playing in 14 games and starting in three.
Robinson took advantage of the playing time, tallying career highs in solo tackles (19) and total tackles (42). The Mater Dei High School graduate became a locker room favorite in the Bay Area, earning back-to-back nominations (2024, 2025) for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported recent roster moves by Dallas on social media. In a post on X, Schefter announced that the Cowboys had signed wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Tyler Johnson, along with linebacker Curtis Robinson.
“Cowboys signed three players today,” Schefter wrote on X. “WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR Tyler Johnson, and LB Curtis Robinson.”
The Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp will begin on June 16 and end on June 18.
