Since Brian Daboll took over as the head coach of the New York Giants, he has always been in favor of holding joint practices with other teams in the preseason.
This year will likely be no different. For the past two seasons, the Giants have held joint practices with the Detroit Lions and New York Jets before their preseason meetings.

“Yeah, working through that,” said Daboll when asked about possible joint practices. “Working through that now. Have more on that here in due time.”
The joint practices have usually been held on the road as they are willing to pack their equipment and travel. The Giants only have one away game in the preseason — Week 1 at Buffalo — and that may not be doable as it could be too early for both organizations.
The Giants host the Jets in Week 2 and then New England just five days later to close out the preseason. That’s too short a turnaround for joint practice sessions. The only real opportunity here is against the Jets.
The Jets are under a new head coach, Aaron Glenn, this year so they may not be quite ready for such a venture. Glenn, however, was formerly the Lions’ defensive coordinator back in 2023, so he may not be totally against the idea.
