The Denver Broncos have not been shy this offseason in signing free agents. The Broncos added more pieces to their defense and added a “Joker” player in Evan Engram at the tight end position.
There’s no doubt that the Broncos’ offense needs to add more playmakers for quarterback Bo Nix. With a need at running back, the Broncos can add former Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb.

The former first-rounder played with the Browns for seven seasons but has battled injuries in recent years.
In 2023, Chubb suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL. This caused him to miss the entire season.
In 2024, Chubb was activated in the middle of the season, but in Week 15, Chubb suffered a broken foot that ended his season after appearing in just eight games.
In those eight games last season, Chubb rushed for 332 yards and averaged just 3.3 yards per attempt after averaging 6.1 the previous year.

On April 14, Chubb, who remains a free agent, the former Georgia Bulldog, posted a video of him squatting 500 pounds in the weight room.
“They’ve already wrote my ending, when I’m just getting started,” Chubb wrote in the caption.

Last season, the Broncos’ leading rusher was Javonte Williams, and he only rushed for 513 yards. Denver hasn’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2019 with Phillip Lindsay.
In nearly every mock draft out there, they have the Broncos selecting North Carolina running back, Omarion Hampton, with the 20th overall pick. Even if the Broncos were to sign Chubb before the draft, it likely wouldn’t prevent them from taking a running back at No. 20.
According to Spotrac.com, Chubb’s free agent market value is a one-year deal worth just 3.2 million.
From 2019 to 2022, Chubb rushed for over 1,000 yards each season and totaled 40 rushing touchdowns.

Adding Chubb to Denver’s roster would be a depth piece to the running back room.
