Stefon Diggs, the former New England Patriots wide receiver, is facing trial this week over an alleged 2025 assault on his personal chef — an incident he denies even happened.
Diggs has been accused by the chef of smacking her across the face and trying to choke her with the crux of his elbow in December of 2025.
The alleged incident resulted in assault and strangulation charges for Diggs, who pleaded not guilty during an arraignment in February.
Diggs was released by the Patriots in March, freeing $16.8 million in salary cap space for the the team. He is yet to sign with another team.
The trial itself is expected to only last a few days. There are about 10 witnesses that are on the list to potentially be called to the stand.
