The Cleveland Browns made the decisions they did during the NFL Draft and did a great job.

We have to give some credit to general manager Andrew Berry for the decisions he made, as Berry has been in the spotlight over the past few years for not making the right ones at times.

However, while he chose Spencer Fano, it seemed possible the Browns would take a quarterback, with Ty Simpson‘s name floated as an option.

Speaking to reporters after the draft, it quietly went under the radar that Berry suggested that once Simpson was off the board, he went in another direction at the quarterback position.

“So we really focused, and particularly when Ty went off the board, we really focused on just the infrastructure around it, and we were really pleased with the players that we selected,” Berry said, per Cleveland.com.

This might not mean a whole lot, as the Browns could have taken Simpson if they wanted to in the first round with their first pick, but it does go to show that the quarterback situation is far from figured out in Cleveland.

That’s something guys like Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, and Dillon Gabriel will unfortunately have to be mindful of moving forward.
