Breece Hall and the New York Jets are in agreement on a reported three-year, $45.75 million deal, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The running back later confirmed that the two sides reached a deal on his X account.

Hall was scheduled to play the 2026 season under the franchise tag, but New York instead secured him for the next three seasons.

The 24-year-old was set to hit free agency for the first time in his career following the 2025 NFL season. Hall was a second-round draft pick in 2022 and didn’t have the coveted fifth-year option of a first-round pick.

The RB ran for 1,065 yards with four touchdowns last season and added 350 yards and another touchdown through the air.

Hall didn’t get the chance to test free agency as the Jets applied the franchise tag to him, ensuring he stayed with the franchise for at least one more season. He becomes the third-highest paid RB in the NFL.

The Jets are in an interesting spot, attempting to rebuild in head coach Aaron Glenn’s second year with the franchise. New York has made improvements on both sides of the ball this offseason by drafting EDGE David Bailey, TE Kenyon Sadiq and WR Omar Cooper Jr. with its three first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

When the 2026 season starts, the Jets are expected to have veteran quarterback Geno Smith under center after acquiring him from the Las Vegas Raiders. He will be accompanied in the offense by Hall, Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, Cooper and Sadiq as New York looks to improve its 3-14 record from 2025.
