CBS Sports’ John Beech recently revealed his predictions for every international game in 2026, including the Kansas City Chiefs as the Atlanta Falcons‘ opponent in Madrid, Spain.

“The favorite in the clubhouse is probably Kansas City. The Chiefs have made it clear to the NFL that they want to be the visiting team. “We’ve been very open and aggressive with the league — as we have been since the beginning — that we want to play in Spain this year,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan said at the NFL’s Annual League Meeting in March. “We think it would be a great market, game [and] matchup,” wrote Breech, “If the NFL sticks to the same plan as last year, this game will likely be played in early November.”

The game in Madrid will be one of a record nine international games in 2026 across four continents, seven countries, and eight stadiums, and will be played at the world-class Bernabéu– home to Real Madrid C.F.- as part of a multi-year partnership with the City of Madrid and Comunidad de Madrid.

Sixty-two regular-season NFL games have been played outside the United States, with London, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Madrid, Dublin, São Paulo, Mexico City, and Toronto having hosted games to date.

Launched in 2022, the Global Markets Program provides NFL clubs with international marketing rights in countries outside of the U.S. to build brand awareness and fandom globally through fan engagement, events, commercial opportunities, and NFL Flag development. The Chiefs have marketing rights in multiple countries, including Austria, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
